What is the importance of studying sociology in general?
Q. My friend says that sociology has allowed her to apply it to everyday life because she can now examine things better. She sort of advocates it like it's a super knowledge. What do you think of it? Do you think I should take it sometime during high school?

A. Personally, sociology was my favorite class in high school. The problem you may run into taking the class though is that it really depends on your teacher how well you like and learn from the class itself. My teacher was awesome. However, I am majoring in psychology now in college, but when I took psychology is high school I did not care for it because my teacher was awful. To answer your question, sociology is a wonderful thing to learn because you get a better view of why people act the way they do in a group. Social behavior is determined by how a person acts within a social circle. This further explains why people act differently around certain groups of people. It really just allows you to interpret things in a diverse way when… [cont.]
